Chagall Windows
Located at the Hadassa Hospital on the way to Ein Karem, there is a Jewish synagogue which houses the famous stained glass windows crafted by Marc Chagall. Of the windows, he said "This is my modest gift to the Jewish people who have always dreamt of biblical love, friendship and of peace among all peoples. This is my gift to that people which lived here thousands of years ago among the other Semitic people."
There are 12 windows, each of which portray one of the twelve tribes of Israel. I don’t have any pictures of the Chagall windows because they are viewed from inside a synagogue and it didn’t feel appropriate to me to take pictures while in there. I was most impressed with the vivid and wide variety of colors incorporated into the windows. They bring out a lot of the spirituality, emotion, and meaning that the work attempts to display. Although I did not take pictures, I have found some from online, which I subsequently posted here for your viewing pleasure.
